Yoga for Memory Power

The above video shows five yogic exercises to enhance memory.

  1. Trataka (Sanskrit: to gaze at a single point), or constant gazing on an external object (a candle) with eyes opened
  2. Dhyana (Sanskrit: Dhayna means to concentrate) focusing on an internal object of focus, eyes closed
  3. Talasana (Sanskrit: Tala means base or grounded) or the Palm Tree pose, grounded like a palm tree
  4. Ek Padasana (Sanskrit: Eka means one, pada means feet) or standing on one leg on the One-Foot pose
  5. Utkatasana (Sanskrit: Utkata means powerful or something strong) or the Chair pose

Trataka is a Sanskrit term that means to gaze and look. Trataka is a meditation technique from the Tantric or Kundalini yoga tradition, which involves continuous gazing at an external object of focus without blinking. It is said to enhance focus and memory power.
