- Seated Vrikshasana (Sanskrit: Vriksh meaning tree) the Tree pose
- Parsva Sukhasana (Sanskrit: Parsva means side or plank and Sukha means easy or pleasure) or Seated Side Stretch pose
- A variation of Vakrasana (Sanskrit: Vakra means bent or curved)or the Half Spinal Twist pose
- Upavistha Bitilasana Marjaryasana (Sanskrit: Upavistha means sitting, Bitila means cow, and Marjari means cat) or the Seated Cat Cow pose
- Adho Mukha Svanasana (Sanskrit: Adho means downward, Mukha means face, and Savana means dog) or the Downward Facing Dog pose. Markatasana or the Monkey pose is explained in the epic text on yoga, Hatha Ratnavalli, written by Srinivasa of the 17th century and has connotations with the Lord Hanuman of the epic Ramayana. It helps in blood circulation and increases flexibility in the spine region.
